Terms of Service

Beta terms Effective 5 July 2026 Mindslake (India)

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Mindslake (“we”, “us”, “our”) for your use of the PinPapers app and services (the “Service”) during our private beta. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use PinPapers, and you affirm your age when you create an account. The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. You are responsible for complying with any laws that apply to you where you use the Service.

2. The Service, and its beta status

PinPapers lets you pin documents and notes to places on a map and store them in encrypted form, with the ability to share selected pins with people you choose. During this phase the Service is offered as a limited, free, invitation-only private beta in India, on iOS, iPadOS and Android.

Because this is a beta, the Service may change, be interrupted, or contain defects. It runs on a development environment, features may be added or removed, and we may pause or end the beta at any time. Do not rely on the beta as the only place you keep anything important — keep your own copies of your files.

3. Your account

You sign in using a federated identity provider (Google, and Apple on iOS) and verify a phone number. Keep your sign-in and your recovery details (email and phone) current and reasonably secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at info@mindslake.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Acceptable use

You may use PinPapers only for lawful purposes and only with content you are entitled to store. You must not:

  • Upload or store content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Store or transmit child sexual abuse material or any other content that is criminal to possess or share. We report such material to the appropriate authorities.
  • Use the Service to commit fraud, harass others, or carry out any unlawful activity.
  • Attempt to break, probe, or circumvent the Service’s security, or reverse-engineer the apps except where the law expressly permits it.
  • Interfere with other users’ use of the Service, or with our infrastructure.

5. Your content stays yours

You keep all rights in the documents, photos, voice notes and other content you add to PinPapers (“your content”). We do not claim ownership of it. You grant us only the limited permission we need to operate the Service for you — to store, encrypt, back up, transmit and, where you choose to share a pin, deliver your content to the recipient you select. We do not sell your content and we do not use it for advertising. How we handle it is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Our intellectual property

The PinPapers apps, brand, name, logo, and the software and design behind the Service are owned by Mindslake or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or to copy, resell, or create derivative works from the Service, except as the law allows.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data stored during the beta will be preserved. This reflects the free, experimental nature of the beta.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mindslake will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising out of or relating to the Service. Because the beta is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to ₹1,000. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using PinPapers at any time, and you may delete your account — see the Account & Data Deletion page. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we end the beta, giving you notice where we reasonably can. When your account is deleted, the deletion process in the Privacy Policy applies, including the retention of certain legally-required audit records.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that consumers keep any right they have under mandatory local law to bring a claim where they live. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact info@mindslake.com so we can try to resolve the matter.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make a material change we will notify you in-app and, where required, ask you to acknowledge the new version before you continue. Editorial changes are published with an updated effective date.
